Johnny Gosch

Iowa
Johnny Gosch

Missing since: 09/05/82
Missing from: West Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.
Classification: Non-Family Abduction
Date Of Birth: 11/12/69
Age at disappearance: 12
Height:5’7
Weight :140
Distinguishing Characteristics: White male. Light brown, short hair; blue eyes.
Marks, Scars: Gosch has facial freckles. He has a horseshoe-shaped scar on his tongue and a birthmark on his left cheek.
Clothing: A white sweatshirt with Kim’s Academy imprinted on the back, warm-up pants and blue rubber thong sandals.
Dentals: There is a gap between his front teeth.
Nickname: Johnny

Circumstances of Disappearance
Gosch disappeared while conducting his newspaper route in West Des Moines, Iowa on September 5, 1982. He was tailed by his dachshund, Gretchen. Gosch was seen speaking to a male suspect while working his paper route on 42nd Street and Marcourt Lane. Gretchen returned home without her master. Because of the Gosch case, Iowa passed a law requiring immediate investigations of missing children.
Gosch disappeared from the same vicinity as Eugene Wade Martin did in October of 1984 and Marc James-Warren Allen in March of 1986. Martin also vanished while working his newspaper route; It has not been proven that these three cases are related in any way, but it is worth noting the similarities.

Gosch’s mother claimed that her son is alive and that he visited her in 1997. She announced her revelations during a 1999 pedophile crime organization trial in Nebraska. Gosch’s mother said that he came to her Iowa apartment in March 1997 with an unidentified male friend. She claims that Gosch told her he was abducted by members of a pedophile crime organization and he escaped from the group at an undetermined time. Gosch’s mother also said that her son was in fear of repercussions from the group and that was the reason he chose to remain “underground.” She stated that she has had no further contact with her son since his 1997 visit and that she remained silent about the event until called as a witness in court because she fears for Gosch’s safety.

Erin Pospisil

Iowa
Erin Pospisil

Missing Since: 06/03/01
Missing from: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth:04/14/86
Age at disappearance: 15
Height: 5’2″-5’3″
Weight: 125-130 lbs.
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Race: White
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Characteristics: Small scar above eye;
Red highlights in hair; Pierced ears
Medical Conditions: Unspecified medical condition.
Clothing: Beige overall shorts and a light-colored tank top.

Details of Disappearance
Erin was last seen during the evening hours. She was given a ride by one of her brother’s friends to her
friend’s house. The friend was not at home. As Erin walked back to her brother’s friend’s truck, a dark colored,
early 1990’s model Chevrolet Cavalier or Impala with tinted rear windows pulled up. Erin had a brief conversation with an occupant in the car and told her brother’s friend that “these guys” would give her a ride. Because Erin seemed to know the occupant(s) in the car, her case was initially classified as a runaway. Her family believes that she was abducted.
She did not take her day-timer, makeup case, or any other personal belongings with her, and none of her friends have heard from her since she disappeared.

The investigation into Erin’s disappearance leans towards the theory that gang members in the areas of Cedar Rapids and Chicago, Illinois may have somehow been involved. She may have been seen in the spring of 2002 at a convenience store in Cedar Rapids, in the backseat of a car with Illinois license plates. However, police were unable to locate her or the vehicle.

Marilyn Renee McCown

November 25, 2009 by

Indiana
Marilyn Niqui Mccown

Missing Since: 07/22/01
Missing from :Richmond, Indiana
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: 01/06/73
Age at disappearance: 28
Height: 5’2″
Weight: 115 lbs.
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Race: Black
Gender: Female
Distinguishing Characteristics: Small scar on right side
of face, small scar over left eye.
Clothing: Hot pink and purple flowered swim suit top
and dark colored shorts.
Jewelry: White gold bracelet and diamond earrings.
AKA: “Niqui”.
DNA: Available

Details of Disappearance
McCown was last seen at a laundromat in the vicinity of the 1000 block of South E Street. While her clothes were either washing or drying, she went to her mother’s house and voiced concerns about a group of Hispanic boys who had been harassing her at the Laundromat. Initially Niqui’s family thought she was abducted from the laundromat but Richmond Police were able to rule that out based on a surveillance tape from a nearby store.
Her vehicle was located on November 3, 2001 in an apartment complex in Dayton, Ohio with the stereo and battery missing, the door lock being knocked in, the ignition switch tampered with, and her laundry still folded inside.

The police had questions for her fiancé, Bobby Webster. According to police, Bobby had begun acting very strangely in the days immediately following Marilyn’s disappearance. Instead of postponing the wedding, he cancelled it entirely, demanding a full refund from the reception hall. Bobby then tried to return his wedding band – also for cash – but the manager refused. Niqui had paid for the ring and her name was on the receipt. An argument ensued and, allegedly, nearly turned violent. Bobby had to be escorted from the store. Bobby said he needed the money to help find Niqui – to pay for flyers and a cell phone. Detectives asked Bobby to take a polygraph test. He refused at first, but later agreed to the test.

If Marilyn did drive to Dayton that Sunday afternoon, perhaps something tragic happened on the way. But how did her GMC Jimmy end up in the parking lot of her ex-boyfriend’s apartment complex? Was it simply an unbelievable coincidence? Some believe that it could have been placed there to throw off suspicion. That theory led Detectives right back to Bobby Webster – and his suspicious behavior following Marilyn’s disappearance. Police continue to follow up on other possible suspects while also keeping a close eye on Bobby Webster.

On April 15, 2005, the McCown family received information from a viewer of “Unsolved Mysteries” on the east coast that Niqui had been spotted. The claim has not been substantiated at this time.
