Clothing/Jewelry Description: A long-sleeved blue Dickey’sshirt, dark blue pants, hiking boots and a white straw cowboy hat.

Details of Disappearance
Killion was last seen at the Target Meadows Campground, two miles north Highway 204 in Umatilla, Oregon, on the evening of August 15, 2007. He had been camping there with his wife and others. He is believed to have been carrying a folding knife and a plastic container with a red lid at the time of his disappearance. He has never been heard from again. An extensive search of the area turned up no indications of his whereabouts.

Killion resided in College Place, Washington at the time of his disappearance. He was in good physical condition in 2007 and could have walked a considerable distance. His case remains unsolved.

Search for Missing Umatilla Man Suspended Sunday Night

UMATILLA, Wash. – Sunday night the Umatilla Sheriff’s Office stopped looking for 85-year-old Deward Killion.

Killion was last seen Wednesday evening at the Target Meadows Campground.  Crews from the Sheriff’s Office report that the search was suspected after crews exhausted local search team resources and covered all the areas where Killion could have walked to.

It was also stated that weather conditions on Sunday hindered the search after there were reports of fog and rain.

It is believed that Killion is carrying a plastic container with a rid lid to put berries in and a folding knife.  He was last seen wearing a white straw cowboy hat, Dicky’s blue long sleeve shirt, dark blue pants, and hiking boots.  He is described as a white male, five foot 11 inches, and 165 pounds.

Searchers report that they have covered 34 square miles using helicopters, all terrian vehicles, horses, dogs and walking teams.
